As some of you will be aware, Sainsbury's have launched their school tokens for sports equipment. It would be fantastic if any parents who shop at Sainsbury's or who have family members that do, could bring their tokens into the school and drop them into the office. These tokens offer us a great opportunity to buy new sports equipment or replace older equipment to ensure that we can give the children the best possible access to sport during their time at Wenlock and your support would be really appreciated.
On Thursday our year 5 boys entered the school games football competition. On a cold afternoon we got off to a slow but steady start, drawing our first two games 1-1, once we warmed up we really started to kick on, winning the next two games 4-0 to finish top of our group and go through to the cup quarter finals against St Josephs. Unfortunately we were unable to progress any further, losing 3-1 but huge credit goes to the players who showed fantastic attitudes and character and represented the school superbly. Well done all.
On Wednesday our year 5 and 6's entered a badminton competition held at Inspire. We entered a boys and a girls' team and even though some hadn't experienced much badminton before, they showed some really promising play and won a fair few games over the course of the morning. Congratulations to all that took part.
