Y4s were treated to Gripping Yarn tales about Britain after the Romans left. They learnt that if you hide from your fears they have space to grow but if you stand and face them the fears have nowhere to go. The children heard stories about democracy, tolerance, rule of law, respect and individual liberty. So, what makes a person British? Being British involves having faith. Britishness includes accepting other faiths and looking after your neighbour – everybody matters. We can come from different backgrounds and see the world in different ways but we can still be British.
